speedometer not working

If you swap the cluster does your old millage come up or is it sent from the PCM?

No it will not come up. The mileage on full size trucks is only kept in the cluster. It is not kept in the BCM/PCM. The cluster will have to be reprogrammed.

There is a guy Carl Cowles (860-583-0629), he rebuilds the entire guage cluster including all bulbs and all motors for less than $200. You don't have to worry about the milage or anything since he's rebuilding your original cluster. He will also replace your face with another model (Escalade, Denali, SSS) for a little additional cost. I'd say give him a call and see what you can find out.

He also has you do an odometer statement if you opt to buy a cluster and return yours after you have received your new one. That way your mileage is correct.

^^ sounds like a good deal, my 99 odometer has been out for like 2 years, i have no idea how many miles it has lol, i just rock it until i want to pay 200+

If it works for you do your thang. Mine went out in 2006, but I just made it do what it do. I got a GPS in 07 so I just used the speedo on there lol

Yep...he does a good job...got my upgraded cluster with the White North Face SS gauges with the tranny temp cluster yesterday...on the exchange basis...all i gotta do is ship my old one back and i'm done.
