Default stepdads truck having trouble starting, please help

well my stepdad has a 2001 gmc V6 with around 140k miles. he changed the fuel pump about 4 months ago and hes still having a problem starting it. He says when its freezing cold outside the truck will start up like normal without a problem, but when its warm outside he said it takes about 5-7 seconds to start up. anybody have an idea of what it might be? he says he put a new alternator on it about a month ago as well and says the battery is good.

How old are the spark plugs & distributor cap/rotor? They seem to get overlooked on the 4.3

Check the fuel pressure again. Possible leaking regulator.
