As of late, my CD player will not eject a CD. I hit the eject button and it just clicks like it's getting stuck on something. Anyone have a fix for this?
I'm not leaving my truck at a dealership for 2 hours so they can "diagnose" the problem. The **** wont eject, that's the diagnosis, it's not rocket science. Chevy won't touch it either because its a GMC even though they use the same f*kin parts. When I told the service guy this was the biggest pain in the *** just to get a replacement he said that was my interpretation I should be able to take it in, show them the ****** wont eject, then they order me a new one. How hard is that?

I don't know for sure if these things have a way to eject without the mechanisms. I know old floppy discs drives had a hole you could jam a paper clip in to get the disc out. You could disassemble the whole unit once its out of the truck to get the CD back.


Get it replaced, then buy an aftermarket unit, take out the new stock one and sell it on here/Ebay. Now buy that CD again with the money you just got.

I had my stock cd player for all of three days before I changed it.

I vote for junking the stock unit (unless it's under warranty) and getting a good aftermarket deck. I took one of the older separate CD players apart (deck had a tape player, and the CD player was standalone) when it wouldn't play CD's and found that the motor that spun the CD was burned out....it was something like $300 for a new one.

And if you don't need to keep the factory deck, you can take it apart and get your CD back and see if you can figure out what's wrong with it

my cd's will eject if i stick a butter knife in and push down the little black tab and lift up on the cd.

The stock ones are probably not too good, Mine just had a radio so I installed a Pioneer CD deck. It was only about 111.00 ... more power and a better FM tuner...all for less than the stock one.
Some places will install it for free if you buy it there.

I had to buy some conversion stuff to do mine. No hacking though.
