Stock tire and rim Weight

Stock tire and rim Weight
I was wondering If anyone has weighed the stock tires and rims i have the generals on my 2002
I need some traction and looks like the Nitto 555r's 305 45 18 are going to be on the rear and the 295 45 18 555 on the front I just don't wanna kill too much performance going to a 18" rim and tire
I like the Boyd coddington smoothies in a 18X9 rim .I called boyd and they said the rims are 29pounds is that any good ?
I'm not sure how much the nitto 555's weigh
I was looking at 18" MKW 9's but i got info that they weighed 45lbs rim alone
Should i buy the wheels and rubber ?
they should look ok on my truck ?

Re: Stock tire and rim Weight
Btw sweet Truck. Would you buy the ATI again? If you moved the battery to the other side Is there enough room between the master cylinder and ati to run the intake pipe to an airbox on the drivers side?
Boyd 18's shouldn't hurt and those nitto drags are what I see on all the l's. A 2-4 drop will close up the gap nice considering the 295/45-18 are 28.5 tall(approx).
I have 29 tall 20's with a 2-3 drop and there isn't much wheel gap.
1999 5.3
stock steel 16 rim= approx 27lbs
w/general tire= approx 60lbs
20x9.5 Modas w/ Goodyear gt II -275 45/20= approx 75lbs <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
measured on a $20 scale from sears <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I'm happy with the Modas but they hurt my et's and I turn my rotors more. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
if I could do it again I would of bought the new centerline 20's, not a bad price
weld evo series are light but real expensive.
I had Boyds on my first truck and the quality was top notch.
The gt IIs are great price and handle OK, traction is ok but I'm only 265 rwhp and 300 rwtq
keep us posted on your choice.

Re: Stock tire and rim Weight
I hear the Centerline wheels are pretty light. Does any know how much a Centerline forged Tracer(80x8) will weight on a GY Eagle GT 275/45/20? I was interested in this combo.

SierraSport,
16X6.5 steel <img border="0" alt="[bomb]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" />
Centerline has been helpful in the past with the wieght of thier rims. I think Weld and Centerline are the lightest around. You have to pay for it though.
