If I had a thrust bearing issue. Could it allow the crank reluctor(spelling?) wheel to get into something. I pushed and pulled as hard as I can on the front balancer it didn't move any.... Maybe thats not the way to test it?
Would I loose oil pressure with a spun cam bearing? Think I've read that it will bounce around. Oil pressure is rock steady and good.

Oil pressure will drop with a spun cam bearing if not totally lost. The reluctor ring cant really hit anything in there that I can think of. I have my stock 5.3 sitting in the corner of the garage with the oil pan and windage tray off of it Ill double check tomorrow. That noise really doesnt sound like a lifter due to it not having a "tick" noise to it that has more of a squeek like said before. If you have a bad thrust bearing then the counterweights will rub against the mains but I dont know if that owuld cause a squeeking noise. Maybe one of the pushrods is clogged and a pushrod is dry grinding against a rocker pushrod cup causing that kind of rubbery almost squeking noise. Thats the only thing I can really think of that would make that kind of noise. Inspect the pushrod cups a little closer for a difference between the other rockers.

Idle's at 600 rpm so you are right on your estimate of 1/3 to 1/2. The crescendo of the squeal does does hit about half rpm. Trying to think what that may tell me.
I'll soon find out what it is. If I have to pull it to fix it which looks like I will, it will not go back in.
Bought this today be here next week. 1500 bucks + tax + 50 shipping to my door. Complete with PCM. I'll sell off everything I don't need from the 6.0 plus whatever is usable on the 5.3.

It started before the trans was installed. I had ordered the new transmission because the old was starting to slip at shifts a little. A couple days after ordering it this noise popped up and I parked the truck at that point.

Knowing now you are doing an engine i would have suggested a take out 3Mi LQ9 and 3mi 4L65E both for $3700,as an alternitive to the FLT&LQ4

Only problem with a new 65e is that it is a 65e with nothing done to it and will give out soon too with no warranty.
Since it seems to make the noise at half idle speed that would suggest something cam related since it moves at half the speed of the crank. My be a messed up lifter tray that has allowed a lifter to rotate. My want to pull the cam for now and find out what the lobes look like.
