I paid 12,500 for it and I have that much tied up in it Im sure. Hard to say an exact cost but 13K would be a good guesstimate, that drivetrain, appearance and sound system. Alot of the drivetrain stuff was wasted money building **** that I later wen ta different way. Cam swap on teh 5.3 and 3K on the built 65e just went up in flames basically.

You learn a lot about bank for the buck.I bet now you could build a pretty quick reliable truck for 13k in mods.

Yes I could 80e with shift kit, LQ4 with sts turbo, usual motor work, little rear end work, gauges, wheels and have a quicker truck than I have now but oh well. You live and learn for sure.

Well good news is the squeal is gone. Bad news is its replaced by a steady tap. To damn cold to investigate it any more. I'm just gonna drive it if I need it. If it blows up it blows up.

wow, that sorta sounds just like mine did when my motor had fluctuating oil pressure guage. it also stopped after a while and then proceeded knock at the very end when the oil guage didnt go over 20psi.

good luck.

geez, sounds like there is a turkey in your motor....lol

I was looking at 1slows posts and realized that I probly wont cam my 5.3 either and just buy a 6.0 or 408. Its not worth swapping so many times and will just cost a ton of money. Cool thing with Chuck at FLT is that if I want to upgrade all I have to do is pay the difference on the trannies, then I just kinda lose out on the shipping an install, not as bad as having to do the whole thing over though!

Chucks a great guy and awesome to work with. Best costomer service of any co. I've done business with.

Keep us posted on that 6.0, hopefully everything works out well for you.

Default Found IT!

Guys, Bringing up this old post. I'm pretty sure this is the squeal I was hearing. There is a lot of talk on LS1TECH about Cam Motion cams and this happening with a guys running the F13 cams from Futral. After reading all that I almost knew what I would see when I pulled the cam. Just the one lobe.

Time for a new cam huh?

Wow you too. Glad I never bought one of their cams.

Btw, what cam are you going to go with now?

I just bought a TR230/224 for mine today.
