Default Supercharged 6.0 Caddy. Tranny Shift Kit?

Hello, all I am new here. I am looking for some advice on tranny shift kits. My tranny shifts too smooth and almost feels like it slips at full throttle on my truck. I have heard that if I install a shift kit the computer will componsate for the hard shifting and make the shift kit useless. I have also heard the opposite and hear they will prolong the life of you tranny especially at the horsepower I am running. Just looking for some advise. Also is there a shift kit that anyone recommends and is it a DIY job for someone who has basic mechanical knowledge and can follow directions, but has no idea about transmissions.

Thanks in advance!

Yes get a shift kit they are the best way to try and save your tranny. All newer computerized vehicles compensate transmission shifting for your driving style, if you drive like a grandma and barely push the gas it will shift slower and smoother (slip more) but if you actually get on it and drive like a man which im guessing you do since its supercharged it will shift firmer. As for installing one yes its not bad if you have some mechanical knowledge and can follow directions. You just have to pull the pan and valve body off, just make sure you get the check ***** back in the right spots and DO NOT use a magnet on them. It might look like a crazy mess but its really not bad.

I'd get a shift kit and have the PCM tuned with that in mind, you'll get better performance, be able to reduce or eliminate torque management, and the shift kit will be more effective once the tuner makes the proper adjustments in the PCM, such as turning off adaptive learning. The Transgo HD2 is a proven favorite brand of shift kit.

Thanks for the info. I have a custom tune installed and am worried about having to get that done all again, as it was not cheap.

Most likely if you have a reputable tuner they'll work with you. You won't be disappointed with the Transgo HD2 . What tune do you have on it?
