Default Tach doesn't work

I just got a 2004 2500 and the tach will not move. Any suggestions on were to start looking? I have a CEL thats on all the time if that matters at all. I've never had a tach problem so kind of lost. Thanks for any help

There was a bulletin on the speedo/tach. I had mine replaced about 1-2yrs ago under warranty. R/

Yeah chances are its the stepper motor. The device that drives/attaches needle. A new clusteter or replace the motor on the board. Common issue all kinds of stepper motors on e-bay.

Yep, odds are you got a bad Instrument Cluster. I'd safely say we do at least 3 a week her at my shop.
