Default "Tackeling" GMHTP

I picked up my latest GMHTP magazine today. Saw a cam question on page 13 by our very own slowverado.

Congrats on getting published.

The latest issue of GM High Tech Performance. Page 13. Title of column: "Tackeling" a nitrous cam. I assume its a play on words from your last name.

You asked about a 222/228 114 XE cam for nitrous use on your forged 370 ci motor. A guy from comp cams replies: "blah blah blah, blah blah. Yeah, that cam would work great."

Just read the article. Are you really running a reverse split cam with your turbo? If so, would you please explain your reasoning for that cam to me? I would have expected a traditional split.

lots of turbo guys run a reverse split, i thought it was nuts too but thats what they say works, if not a reverse split then a single patern. something about keeping the eshaust velosity up

Not a turbo expert but I think if you keep the velocity up with the reverse split pattern, the turbo will spool up easier, with less lag that is. Of course thats where n20 comes into play in my mind. Damn I need to win the lottery!!!
