Default Tahoe seat module went out... advice?

I put my truck in the shop because the driver's seat no longer makes any adjustments (lumbar, recline, forward, etc.) It is all electric. More to the point, the dealer said my module went out and it will cost $540 to fix. He went on to tell me that I can buy the part myself, but it still needs to be programmed by a dealer. Anyone know what the part # is or the price?

Has anyone had any experience with this that can give me guidance before I fork over $540? I would rather spend that on Hotchkis sway bars.

Much appreciative of anyone's thoughts on the matter. Thanks.

I cant see how an electric motor/wiring harness needs programming. So I call

If it were me, I'd buy the part (not from the dealership) and put it in. If it really did need "Programing" I'd ask one of the guys on here, that work at a dealership, to get me the part at their cost and program it and ship it to me. For a small fee.
Would be cheaper that $540 I bet.

Check out modulemaster.com...I know he does ABS module repairs, maybe he can do other control units also.

Just got off the phone with service at a Chevy dealership. They said the part alone costs $260 and to program would probably run about $200. They said the programming is for the seat memory function and so each individual motor recognizes the signal.

If anyone knows any good places or good people in Houston to have this done, please let me know. Since the seat is set where I like it, I am reluctant to have this done for so much $$$. The sway bars sound much more fun for the money.

Man, that's alot of scratch The price for the part sounds right, but the programming seems a little high to me.
