2005 Silverado, what is up with these things separating, my truck only has 47k on it, pristine condition in carport. Are the aftermarket stock type better or the same

Mileage means nothing, it's still 11 years old and still in the time of hit and miss GM quality. Same thing happens with the ponitac cars, some are still in mint condition somehow and others let water in and look terrible.
Aftermarket can be hit or miss too, the LED style seem to be pretty decent from what I've seen. But new stock ones should last a while. The TYC brand makes great headlights, not sure if they make tail lights though.

If you're going to buy aftermarket copies of OEM, avoid VIPMOTOZ on ebay. I thought they were OK at first but after looking at them closer, there's a smoky film completely covering the inside of the plastic, like they didn't wipe them clean before assembling. The headlights I got from them are the same way. The front signals look fine, but the headlights and taillights both have that film.
