The trailbazer with the 5.3 is the one with the 3rd row seating. It is longer and heavier than the SS version.

Not true. An "EXT" (longer) version is available, but by no means is that the only version that came with the 5.3L.

Really? That is a steal! Saw a slick black one in the showroom the other day... sticker was $41k.

Yeah, it was cloth seat version with basically no options. Here it is:

My GM credit card earnings took $2500 off the bottom dollar price. I couldn't pass it up.

They started putting 5.3s in the shorts in 06. There not the easiest things to find but there out there.

you can make a 5.3 as fast as a TBSS, but a few things happen (and don't happen)...

1. You will end up spending the difference, probably more in TBSS price, in mods to get there.
2. You will break **** (tranny, rear, etc...) More $$$.
3. It will never be a TBSS. Take that from the guy that bought a 5.3L Z71, then finally broke down and bought a Silverado SS...There is no comparison when you compare the two trucks overall.
4. When you mod the TBSS, it makes it that much sweeter, now you aren't trying to catch other TBSS's, you are trying to catch Camaros, Trans Ams and eventually Corvettes.
