cut the male (strap) end of the seatbelt off and put it in the female (seat) end and it will never chime

I buckle my seat belt before I put the truck in gear. So I son't really know what you're talking about.

I don't think it can be tuned out. You would probably have to pull a fuse but, that may be tied into other systems. If you really can't deal with it, buy another buckle (no strap) and stick it in the slot so you don't tear up the stock belt

no you cant tune it out... all it is, is your buckle acts like a switch once its in it make a compleate circuit and shuts off the light in your dash and the chime all you have to do is take off the seatbelt cover and splice the 2 wires together

Yeah just splice the wires or use a resistor. Shouldn't be hard to figure out. I'm lucky. I have a 2000, and apparently the connectors are worn because the seatbelt light stays on even when I put it on but my particular year doesn't chime, apparently.

There is usualy a there is a procedure that is in the owners manual to turn this off. You can also just plug the seatbelt in for 1 second then take it off to stop the chime.

Or you could actually wear your seat belt, so you live when the air bag explodes in your face.
