Default Those of you who launch in 4wd....

...when do you switch to 2wd? Right after the launch, before the 1-2 shift, or what? Just curious (if I make it to the track this year <which is doubtful but you never know>, I'm gonna try launching in 4wd)

I used to switch back before the 1-2, atthe top of first but I cant due to traction issues anymore. Now I switch back as soon as i drop below 3.2G's...lol, after 2nd is engaged.

Never launch in 4WD AUTO.....well if you want to break something, have at it. Launch in 4WD HI and I try to disengage as soon as possible after the shift just because I 'think' it helps. Keyword, think.

I don't think it should even be attempted with a manual shift 4wd., just leave it engaged.

I remember my launch in 4wd Auto bright idea. How everything from the transmission rearward didn't come flying out of it I'll never know.

Launch in 4wd HI. Switch it to 2wd as soon as you can. Depends on your power level. I used to be able to pretty quick. Now if I do it before the 1-2 shift it just lights the rear up. I've even broke traction a couple times deep into second on the street with the nitrous. Wish I could catch it on video....

If you choose to launch it in 4wd with a manual shift. The other option is to beef up your rear-end and buy slicks but that takes the fun out of 4wd launching
