I have a 4.8. I'm not bragging about it.

Would I have gotten the 5.3, you damn right! However, I had an EXCELLENT deal on my truck (got it when 03's were comin out). Could I beat a 5.3, maybe. Do I really care? No. I enjoy ******* with Dodges, Fords, and imports. A 5.3 can probably stomp my ***, but I really don't get to worked up about it.

What dont you get? With your mods you SHOULD be able to beat stock 5.3's.

You said you even beat one with "similar mods" Similar does not mean the SAME. If you were to come up against a 5.3 with the SAME EXACT mods with an equal driver to yourself you would lose.

You brought up this argument as a Stock vs. Stock fight. Dont try to change it now. Since your truck is NOT stock then your races arent relevant.

There is not a single person on this whole board that has EVER said that a modded 4.8 can't CONSISTANTLY beat a stock 5.3. But STOCK TO STOCK there is NO QUESTION.

Nope. My truck is faster than yours...no contest

 

Slowverado, I think that means you can spank a Z06, but that dosen't really matter. What matters is that our 4.8s, 5.3s, 6.0s, 6.6s and 8.1s can smoke the Dodge and Ford counterparts. I don't know about you guys but my 5.3 loves smoking Imports, I blow them away --- all the time on video. I think if the 4.8 was as powerful as the 5.3 everyone would have the 4.8. Just my $.02.
