Throttle body plate (manifold flange)

Throttle body plate (manifold flange)
Getting ready to make my manifold flange (where the throttle body used to be) and i was wondering something about the construction. I am going to make it out of 1/2" aluminum plate, but i noticed that on the gaskets and on the spacers (as well as in the manifold) there are two other orifices above the main opening. Do they have a purpose, or can i block them off with my new flange?

so how is it "breathing" with the whipple inlet there? All thats there with the whipple inlet is a 3" pipe. That small 1/2" hose comming from the inlet is going to the cold air intake tube, is that what your talking about? Would I need to make sure i tap my new flange in that same spot in order for it to "breath"? Or is it different on forced induction systems?

here is a pic of a custom whipple intercooler. It shows how he made the flange for the manifold. Looks like he did not tap for a "breather" tube on his.

ok one of the holes is for the tube from the valve cover on the passenger side the other is for the IAC controller, if you going to mount the t/b on the s/c then no its not needed for the plate that your makeing for the I/C. Sorry I thought you were going to make a plate for NOS behind the t/b.
