Time for a newer vehicle, suggestions?
well my 03 is a freak truck and gets like 14mpg all the time
so I need something with better mpg. I would also like a little more interior room so I'm going either with an extended cab ...or dare I say it...a car.
Since MPG is a serious concern and I will be running factory tire sizes I am considering ECSB 2wds with a 4.8 or 5.3 and 3.23 gears or a ECSB 4x4 5.3 3.42 gears. Both will be 06-07 classic (I think NBS are sexier than NNBS) Trucks will likely be lowered a little.
or a car
cars I'm considering
Grand marquis/Crown Vic, I know grandpa car, but when done right can look good (blacked out with Marauder spoiler). Quite a few mods out there with the 4.6L 2V stang motor, cheap insurance too for a 21 year old. Plus I get 27mpg highway when I drive my grandpas.
Pontiac G8 with a 3.5L v6
Dodge Charger/ Chrysler 300 with either 3.5L v6 or HEMI v8
Chevy Impala...IDK about going with a FWD car tho

done wasting time fixing it when nothing is visibly wrong. Did plugs wires, filters, fluids, new built trans & converter, U joints, brakes, tires, new magnaflow Y pipe, new O2s, blah blah blah. Time for newer ride.

Better gas mileage and lots of heavy steel around you are usually an incompatible mix. Even a 5.3 in a ECSB is gonna guzzle gas to get it moving.
The car route will get you better mileage, right up until the point where it is violently introduced to something larger. For this reason alone I don't like (or recommend) most cars for the crash-conscious. Something massive like a Mercedes or Volvo will work though.

Because I know cars aren't as crash friendly that's why I'm looking for a bigger car.
Seriously considering an ECSB with a 4.8 or 5.3 and 3.23 gears.

Unless you're planning on pure highway usage, I would recommend avoiding 3.23 gears. If you have any in-town driving your mileage will plummet. For comparison (although a bit heavier than a ECSB by 1000lbs)
5.3L 4L60E 3.42 gears
Untuned: 11MPG average city, 17 highway
Power Tuned: 12MPG average city, 23 highway
