was wonderin what yall thought about tire weight versus tire size, in reference to which takes more power to turn, accelerate, burns more fuel ,etc. i have 33x13.50's on my truck now and plan on putting 35x12.50's. the 35's are 2 inches bigger in diameter but weigh 4lbs a tire less, than the 33's. any input is appreciated.

You need deeper gears to offset heavier larger tires. The 33's are already too much with 3:73's. Any larger and you will be able to push it by hand faster than you can drive and it will further trash your gas mileage. I'd go 4:88's if it were mine factor in the tire size and your effective axle ratio by sheerly guessing only will be in the 3:90 range more or less

i have 3.73's now, and plan on keeping them for a bit. i get around 14-16 mpg with the 33's. i was just curious on your thoughts as to what makes more of a drain on power, size or weight? and both are bias ply MT super swampers

keep in mind, when you say 4 lbs lighter, you are calculating total weight, not rotating weight.
It depends on where the weight is at in the tire. (thicker side wall, or thicker tread).
Think a figure skater with arms out vs arms in. The closer to the center of rotation that the weight is, the easier it spins.
