Still readily available in California at a NAPA or equivalent parts house near you.
Is it the same thing or just as good?

Yeah, it makes your truck smoke like a chimney. The Amsoil did the same thing....SMOKE SHOW!!!

The stuff dissolves crud on contact. My TB sparkles now.

Jeez, here are your cliff notes. I thought you were being an ***, but, I guess you really wanted the cliff notes.

- Truck had oily intake and crudded up TB.
- Also, had bad KR which caused very low timing.
- Bought AMW catch can and top end cleaner to try and cure oily intake and KR.
- Installed catch can and used top end cleaner.
- Truck ran like crap at first but, now runs great.
- Intake is clean, AMW catch can works, timing is way up, KR is non existant.

There ya go.

XLR8NSS: I would gladly pay you to buy and ship the GM Top Engine Cleaner to me. I used to use it all the time and loved it, but stupid California had to go and have it banned. I would imagine that the small amount of smoke that came out after using the TEC would be better in the long run than having a crappy running truck, but what do I know?
Here is a picture of exactly what I want, you can pick it up at any GM parts dept. I believe they come in cases of 12. I'll take one case please

How did you spray it in the TB? Does it come in an aerosol? I did mine through the PCV on the old motor. It didn't make a lick of difference IMO, but maybe she was too far gone between EGR and PCV. I'm going to run a can through 6.0l since I didn't have the catch can on there for the first 3000 miles.

Mac and Chingon - Do you both want a case? You better pay me for this stuff after I buy it.

OBX - The Amsoil Power Foam sprayed outta an aerosol can. It came out as a foam, with the TB cracked a bit it got sucked right into the engine right around the TB blade. After seeing how much oil was in the catch can after a few hundred miles I would definately run a can through.

OK, I'm thinking of the Sea Foam. Damn GM wants $16.00 a bottle for their top end cleaner. I'll have to see if I can get the Amsoil OTC.
