towing set up for a 1500
I have a 1999.5 new body style extended cab chevy 1500 4.8L i plan on swapping a 6.0L but i was wondering what a good toweing setup would be gears tranny rear trucks paid off so i just wanted to beef it up a little.
Is it possible to swap a 3/4 ton rear end into a 1500. well i know anything is possible with enough money.
thanks for anyones help

what do you want to tow? That's where I would start. I went from my 150 to the silverado and don't feel nearly as safe towing with it as the f-150, my biggest complaint are the brakes, any motor will get you to 70 but it's stopping that's the problem. Same Trailer, same brake settings, same jeeep, just not a great tow vehicle. Anything over 6K lbs even with trailer brakes I experience great fade. I'd run a 9.5" rear with 6.0 and 4L80 but with that set up your well over what the weight and brakes of a 1500 can handle but the drivetrain will last.
