Default Toyos Proxes S/T OR General UHP Grabbers, which is better???

I am in the market for some new tires. I have narrowed it down to these two. The Proxes are ~$40 more for an entire set.

From what I have read:

Proxes = Bad wet traction but excellent dry traction
Grabbers= Good wet traction and decent dry traction.

So my question is how well do the Grabbers hook on the street vs the track. and how bad are the Proxes in the rain...

Both come int the size I want, 265/70/16s which is ~30.6in. I like the styling of both, if i am reading the specs right the Proxes wear a little bit longer 420 vs 360... I am installing 4.10s and a truetrac next weekend with a TT3000 in a couple of months, I just don't want to be slipping and sliding in the rain....

The generals are by far the best tire out there for your money. I have a set of 255/55/16s on mine, and when i air-ed them down a little bit at the strip I cut a 1.87 60ft on them.

just my opinion

Proxes FTW, but burn the top layer off them right when you get them, they develop a shell like a DR if left sit to long and you have to give them a quick spin and they hook really well. but they wear fast, i have 6 months and just over 20k miles and my back ones are gone, allbeit burning the 1-2 shift doesnt help

I've had th toyos on a little over 2 weeks now and no problems in the rain at all. I like em quite a bit. Generals are cheaper but can't really say about quality, etc.

I'll be going with the General's over the Toyo's when I have to get new tires. Still got approx. 5k-8k miles on the current Goodyear's the previous owner put on.

haha I dont think the brand of tire has anything to do with your tire wear! but my toyos (275-60-17) do pretty good in dry weather, havnt noticed any real horrible wet weather manners either..nothing more than any other tire Ive had
