I don't think it would be able to tow much anyway considering its a uni-body. Oh, and thanks for the link; I should've known to check Chevy's website.

LOL, it reminds me of the time one of my dads buddies would tow his 99 (?) cobra to the track using his 02 lightning. The cobra ran 12.7, and the guy had no intentions of racing is lightning. It had a smaller diameter pulley, custom programming, shift kit, and i think it had 4.56 rear gears. I conned him into racing the lightning just for shitz and giggles, and the lightning ended up running something like a 12.5 or a 12.6. It was freakin hilarious. He was all red in the face that his full size truck was quicker than his trailer queen, drag race only cobra. Although you guys know how it is with lightnings, you can get 500RWHP by doing something as little as sneezing on it..

I think my dad and I are gonna find a dealership in the twin cities area that has a SS in stock. The more I keep talking about it the more excited he is getting. The best part is i will find an excuse to drive it every time i go to my parents house!! woot!

Would you get the AWD or RWD version (and why)?

i sure do like watching those AWD launches in parishes truck...all four tires scratching for traction, it's the stuff dreams are made of.

Just out of complete curiousity, what kind of a job do your have parish?

Ive had my pops on the look out for one for a few weeks. Hes the fleet manager for a dealership down here and gets us sick deals on GM cars (we've had 4 C5 vettes, 3 99-02 Tahoes, a Cadillac Deville, a CTS-V, an SS impala, and a C6 in the last 5 years). This is them and my brother and I. I really hope they arent as nice as they look. I dont want to start all over, but I figure my new motor, blower and pretty much everything would transfer over and AWD and a lot less weight would get me into the 11's alot easier than I will be able to with this Tahoe.

probally not that good with 700hp

im really likeing this truck, they are on the chevy website now, i priced a decent awd one out to about 36K. they go as low as 32, 2wd base ls up to 39, awd loaded. 36 was a happy medium for me, just gotta figure out how to pay for one now.
