Default truck slows down at 2-3 shift

my truck has no ***** lately. it seems very sluggish. while going at 50-70 mph at WOT, my truck use to pull like an animal. no it feels like there is alot of drag. when the rpm's get high right before the 2-3 shift, it stops accelerating. almost feels like a TM problem, but i never had this problem before.

could it be a fuel filter or pump instead?

Well since its getting warmer, maybe your clutch fan is kicking in and dropping the anchor?

it is supposed to get down to 3*F here tonight.

hasn't gotten above 40*F in a long time.

i think it is either fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs wires, too large of a gap in spark plugs, or coils

maybe the cats are clogged
maybe the trannys slippin

who knows
ask about best exhaust, best intake, or best tuning
and you get many hits

but when a problem comes up...

I wish I knew

If your cats are clogged, your slugishness should be rpm dependant not gear or speed. My next guess is tranny/converter. oh and its 72 over here in CA, I was at the beach today!

more speed equals more load on the engine

I dont see why clogged cats couldnt be more readily felt
at higher speeds/ higher load/higher gear

I mean I can see what you're saying
in a controlled environment
like an engine dyno

He also noticed less power thru 2nd

1st gear is 3.06 so there is little time to feel a difference

I know what hes goin thru
I cut 1.8 60 fts
and slow *** ets

2 things Im troubleshooting is cats and transmission

2 worth checking IMO
