Default truck won't warm to 195 degrees?

I can't figure out what would be the cause of my truck not warming up to the normal temp whick is 195. I put in a new thermostat and still won't warm up to 195. Changed coolant temp sensor too. What are some ideas of things that would cause a vehicle to run too cold and not warm up. Does that mean I am running too rich because it is not reaching the 195? Catalytic converter is not working either so I am trying to figure this out in case they are connected. Any ideas?

The truck only runs richer on startup like once it breaks 135 degrees that shut off and normal fuel is supplied.
If you changed the T stat and it still isn't warming to your likeing it could have been a bad t stat or improperly installed.
My truck runs at 179* all the time.Which is what i want.
Not sure on the cat though. How do you know it's bad?

The temps in front of the cat are 350 and in behind it is 160. Muffler shop said it was suppose to be hotter in the rear. The exhaust acts like it is stopped up when you drive it. Started getting worse and pings bad now. I have had a horrible exhaust smell for awhile. None of the mechanics knew what it was. I think it is emissions that the converter is not cooking off. The converter has turned purple too.

The thermostat just drops in the spot on the intake manifold in the front. It is doing what the last thermostat in the truck did which worked fine at one point. I got the exact same one from ac delco. I wouldn't think both thermostats were not working. I don't know. I just thought maybe if the coolant temp sensor is not getting hot enough it was messing up the whole air fuel mixture.

The air fuel will be fine as far as the temp of the motor goes. What is it getting up to anyway you never said?
On the cat, yes that is definantly a bad cat. That could be causing all of your problems honestly. They aren't that expensive.Get a new one and throw it on your truck will like you a whole lot more once you do.Not to mention a clogged cat robs performance like you woudn't believe.

I have to go through inspection so I have to have the cat.

The temp is only getting to 185 at the most. It doesn't rise up and come back down like it used to do on my truck.

I have an aftermarket magnaflow converter and it had a bad resonance on it. I was going to get an oem one but they are high.

what degree stat did you buy???? are you sure you didnt get a 185 stat?? as for the cat problem you need to fix that before you really have problems.

Change the cat. but as far as the temp you could have just gotten a 185 tststat by mistake. Just take it out and look on there for a stamped 195 or 185.
i've never seen a clogged up cat cause lower temps but i guess it's possible.
