I recently put a Trutrac in my 98 K1500 Suburban after the G80 did what it's known best for KABOOM!
I've also just bought another for the 14 Bolt SF rear coming from Canada.

Hey man this is Chris. I am in Atlanta Georgia. I just bought my truetrac on ebay Monday from Rons Machining for $389 shipped also. I am like you, eager to see what this thing is all about! Are you doing a ring and pinion swap also, I figured I might as well since I am swapping the differential. I went from a 3.73 to a 4.11 from motive gear ( about $150 extra) but I feel its worth it. And with the truetrac, it takes different size carrier bearings from the stock diff. I bought the kit from summit (Ratech 360K). The stock bearings WILL NOT work. Im just trying to help and Im not being a know it all, I just hate to be in a bind when I really anticipate something. Let me know how it works for ya and I will let you know how much I like mine. Good Luck and I hope to hear from ya!

well when i first bought the truck i did a gear swap from 3.73 to 4.11 and i just now added the true trac!! As for the bearings, i used the stock ones i just cleaned the up and installed them on the true trac. So far i like it alot! You can tell its there when you hit it at a red light, the G80 you could feel unlock and this one you can tell it doesnt

Yeah...the Trutrac is seamless and quiet....unlike the G80.
There are 2 different sized G80 carriers. Mine had the smaller bearing seats and so I needed to get bigger bearings (larger inside diameter where they slide onto the carrier).
As for times for my Burb. No idea.
Wouldn't be that flash...too heavy.
It does get onto the freeway in a hurry though and deffinately surprises the ricers at the lights. Lol!
