I never got to drive my 4.3 s10 at sealevel but the guy who bought it said there was a night and day difference. Have you tried 28~30*? Ofcourse NA. I run 10.2:1 vortec headed 350's at 32~33* all the time on 91 octaine. Same combustion chamber, bore, and stroke as the 4.3.

I have never messed with n20 but most people I know and race against use it on me lol. Seen lots of GEN 1 SB, and BB's like 35+* of timing for best NA power. I have seen many people pull the timing back from 35 to 30* add a couple gallons of good fuel and hit a 150 shot all night long. I think 24* would be pretty safe. A 125 shot on a V6 is prob more like a 175 on a V8.

Been driving my dad's 96 Blazer with the 4.3 for a few months now and it needs something lol...he has a K&N FIPK, and I think a 160* stat by the way the temp gauge reads, but I don't trust the factory gauge. I do know how the factory gauge reacts to a cooler stat though from observing other GM's with 160* stats, including my own, and that's how this gauge is reading. I gotta ask my dad if he had it tuned...

better mod would be to remove the "orange slice" from your throttle body blade for more lowend response, I did it to my 4.3/auto and it helped the dead spot in the off-idle-2500 range. My Superchips tuner made no difference other than correcting my tire height and firming up the 4l60's sloppy shifts.

I know this'll make most guys cringe but on my 97 C1500 4,3l 5 speed truck I installed a hypertech power programmer. Set the top end to 128 MPH and adjusted everything the way I wanted it. It made a great improvement in throttle response and trust me, a 4.3L 5 speed truck with 3.42 gear WILL HIT 128mph

Open the TB and look down, it's rivited to the butterfly. You can either cut it or drill the rivits, If you drill the rivits you need to plug the holes with something or the idle will be too high. Tried it on mine but at 7000' elv it runs better with it in place.
