turn and clunk noise
This is a continuation to a thread I made here:
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=468025
But when I make a sweeping turn I get a single clunk noise and can feel it in the steering wheel. On the truck the Steering box, idler arm, pitman arm, tie rods and shocks are all new (or less then a year old). When I make a sweeping, generally faster turn (usually left) I get a single clunk. I think it is coming front the pass side but have herd it fromt he driver's side also (at least I think so, could have just been louder and sounded like it was from the driver's side).
I still think it is a CV axle, as there is a small, small amount of play in the pass side cv axle. I took it by my mechanic and he said he didn't know what it was, he said it may be the hub, but it is tight and makes no noise, but still could be shifting under load. I don't think it is the bushings as they seem to be tight, there is a little movement in the top A-arm bushings when I use a pry bar, but dosen't seem excessive.
I can't get it to do it all the time and can't replicate it on demand. I don't want to start replacing hubs or CV's and have it be a ball joint or something.
Any ideas? I'm getting desperate.
