unknown door issue
I have a 04 Chevy ccsb and it has power locks and doors. My driver door has suddenly started doing a half a** jod at what it is supposed to be doing! When I hit the remote to lock and unlock the door the door does nothing. When I open all the other doors my overhead lights come on except when I open the driver door! And last but not least when I open all the other door my dash lighs turn off like they are supposed to, but not when I open the darn driver door! I have talked to two different ppl one body shop and another was a dealership and go figure they said two different things! Any one have a clue to what is the problem and what I need to correct the issue?

It could be a broken wire or it could be the door lock itself. Broken wires are usually at the pass-thru at the front of the door where it pivots. Will the door power lock? That would suggest wiring is good and it's internal to the door lock.

No it only work when you manually lock it, but why doesn't the lights go off in the dash when the door opens like when you do with the other doors! Same for when the overhead lights come on when you open all the other doors!

The switch that signals if the door is open or closed is in the door lock. If you have some broken wires, the BCM won't get the proper signal so it doesn't know the door is open. Or it could be a bad door lock. Won't know without testing it.

You probably have a bad door lock actuator assembly, it's the part that latches on to the striker and keeps the door closed. It also has the courtesy switch for the interior lights in it, as well as the door lock actuator. I replaced mine once already for the courtesy switch not working and the interior light staying on when the door was closed and so on. Mine had water in it that leaks into the door normally, through the window belt molding, and corroded the switch.
Just a guess, but the door lock actuators are a common failure
