Default Upper steering column bearings...

Well my 04 Silverado SS devolped a loose steering wheel and popping noise from the same area at 5k miles. The noise usually happened during the morning with sharp turns. I took it to 2 different dealerships which stated they couldnt duplicate my concern. One dealer actually told me the tech took it all apart and found nothing wrong.

Tired of living with the noise I tore into the column. The C-clip for the airbag clockspring still had the black paint on it without any scratches. Digging deeper I came to the realization this column was never taken apart and the dealer outright lied to me

New steering column bearings fixed the looseness and popping noise. Has anyone else experienced this problem on their truck? Is it a common problem? Why are dealerships so retarded? Wait, I know why...flat rate techs that care less for quality work, service writers that think its ok to lie to customers, more parts changers then real techs...I'll stop now. Thanks for any replies. Keep on truckin
