Where under the hood did you guys put your controller?
I am thinking of putting mine under the dash or under the center console. Because of my intercooler, my ECU is relocated to the firewall by the brake booster and I think either way I go I can make connections at the ECU easily

it's in! Bell housing all tight. That top stud and nut can kiss my azzzzz. Buying a 261 case tonight, then probably swapping the input to my old 246 to eliminate any and all guess work until I can verify things work as intended
then modding crossmember, adding shafts and fluid and doing wiring. Might actually get this thing moving soon

Absolutely no idea how @CarbonRanger was able to just redrill.... but of course I had to make it a whole thing, using 1/2 my metal working tools lol
also painted it black so @dantheman1540 would shut up about how I "nEvEr PaInT aNyThInG" 🙄
going to have to drop the crossmember and the trans mount to get to the bottom t case nut, which is only slightly inconvenient

Welp............
Project set back news. The 261 gear does NOT fit the 246
I have 4 GM cases at the house, ranging from '88 to '07 and somehow I can't make a single combination work because either bearing widths are wrong, VSS's are wrong or spline count is wrong and can't be swapped lol
So the plan is, because SAS is in this truck's future.... Pony up and rebuild the 261 with this SYE: https://www.offroaddesign.com/99-07-...al-470898.html
After all is said and done, I will be ~1000 into getting power to the front diff, but I will have a 1350 shaft, an indestructible T case and I will have a case with the proper generation VSS sensor to make my truck happy. My Dodge axle does not have CAD, so I think (famous last words) that I can eliminate my TCCM and therefore keep the DIC happy. Unsure if the single VSS on the 261 will make the dash happy. We will know in a few weeks
In the meantime, good thing my Hummer hasn't sold and somehow my Triumph has proven to be ultra reliable (unlike a typical British vehicle aha) because otherwise I would be daily driving my MR2

SYE, pump rub case saver, 1350 yoke, rebuild kit, output bushing and t case pump ordered up! Wallet says oof
Need to get some better external snap ring pliers if anyone has some suggests. I used a 2000 year old pair of Matco's to get the case apart and they couldn't quite do it without some fuckery
