valley cover.. crack or poor forging?

Default valley cover.. crack or poor casting?

the crack looks superficial. it doesnt go through to the other side. would any of you be worried about reinstalling the cover with the crack as it is?

I'd run it as is. Maybe lay a thin layer of epoxy just for peace of mind.

We see that quite often. If it is just superficial, you should be okay!

Thats a crack, seen them leak there before. Install at your own risk.

Looks to be a casting mark to me.. I would give it a shot..

if you were in GA i have an extra one laying around you could have... i would run it though.

its called casting flash from the form when it was cast.... its not forged BTW... run it like it is....

you should see what a transmission case looks like before it is machined...
