I would like to replace the Vortec cover on my engine with the Vortec Max Cover. Can anyone tell me if the Vortec Max Covers usually on the 6.0 will fit the 5.3 from an 04 Tahoe? Engine is in a 55 Suburban.

Just found the part numbers, but don't know if they are still available.

I'm not sure on the fitment having never had a 5.3 but I do know they are still available from the dealers. I had my parts lady at work call about that exact piece a couple months ago when I got my engine. With our discount it was around 60 bucks, they just had to special order it. So figure 70ish for a ballpark probably from a dealer.

 

Those will fit your truck, any 99-07 classic GM engine if I recall correctly. I have a vortec 3 piece cover on my 2006 ccsb w/ a 4.8

 

Well they will fit the engine anyway. Now depending on the placement in your suburban you may need or hafto trim the covers some.
