1SlowHoe, does your ride have Auto temp control? If so, the AC compressor is probably coming on, even if you have the heat on and defroster off, which would be normal operation for that system...pretty sure it uses a thermistor in the cabin to sense the temp and control it accordingly.
It does have the auto feature but I never use it. I just turn it full clockwise for hot and turn the fan on. The AC light is off and the defrost is off but I still get that drag on the engine as if the compressor is coming on and I hear it click. So,...I know the compressor is kicking on I just dont know why.

What exactly did you pull? Heat still works fine?

a/c relay under fuse box under hood. Yep, everything works great, except a/c.

Cool

Those compressors like to be circulated once in a while to keep some oil in them so they don't seize up AFAIK. It might be a good idea to run it once a month or so to keep it lubricated.

In my tune, EFI offers only 2 choices. 1 is to have it on auto recirculate and the other is Fan #2 control. I dont have E fans so I have recirculate selected. Even with the recirculate light off ti still kicks the compressor on.

What vent setting do you keep it on? If you keep it on the fowared vents or the floor it shouldn't kick on if not needed. If you select defrost, or even bi-level which is the floor and defrost, the compressor will run. I have manual controls, if I turn it even one click off the floor towards the defrost the compressor will kick on.
