Those compressors like to be circulated once in a while to keep some oil in them so they don't seize up AFAIK. It might be a good idea to run it once a month or so to keep it lubricated.

In my tune, EFI offers only 2 choices. 1 is to have it on auto recirculate and the other is Fan #2 control. I dont have E fans so I have recirculate selected. Even with the recirculate light off ti still kicks the compressor on.

What vent setting do you keep it on? If you keep it on the fowared vents or the floor it shouldn't kick on if not needed. If you select defrost, or even bi-level which is the floor and defrost, the compressor will run. I have manual controls, if I turn it even one click off the floor towards the defrost the compressor will kick on.
