Default Weight Reduction

Took the truck to the scales the other day. With a full tank of gas, spare, toolbox with tools and a floor jack, I weighed in at 4260 lbs. I am going to a stock 15 inch wheel and drag radials in the rear so I will be loosing the 20's. If I go down to a quarter of a tank, loose the tool box and spare what do you think I can get my race weight down to?

were you in the truck? id say ud probably lose bout 30lbs for the spare, depending on how many tools you got in the box probably 30-60lbs and probably least 100lbs going to the other wheels and tires. probably 100lbs for the gas tank to. id say anywhere from 250-300

I agree with beastmode. I think you have a good chance to get your truck under 4K. Those older body style trucks weigh less than the '99 to present trucks.

What about the Spare Tire Holder under the bed? Thats atleast 25lbs of scrap?

What about your Hitch? That has to weigh a good bit?

I know a guy that wanted to reduce weight so bad in his truck he drilled out the spot welds in the body panels and cut holes in the frame if he felt he didn't need it. Those type of guys are funny to watch but when you're the one thats supposed to help him, does that ever suck.
