Hey guys,

Buddy of mine just got a 1997 Tahoe with about 97,000 miles on it. The cluster is acting werid on a couple htings.

1 - The Oil pressure gauges seams to be jittery. I think either the gauge is going bad or the sending unit. Where is the sending unit located on the 97 5.7L Motor?

2 - The fuel gauge bounces all over while driving, does it read fuel level constantly or does it sample intermitently like on my 03 truck? I am wording again if it is the gauge or the sending unit or just the design.

the pre 99 gauges may have the same stepper motor issues as the 99+. My oil press gauge is all over the place because of the stepper.

I had a feeling it was probably stepper in the cluster for the Oil Gauge... thanks for the info

mine will peg out at half throttle and stays at 3/4 of the way at all times... wonder if thats the same thing
