Default Weird!! Sparking From Plug Wire To Exhaust Manifold

I've been hearing a slight ticking sound at idle occasionally for a several months now. It started getting more consistent lately and it was doing it yesterday when I started pulling in the garage. I thought I would finally get a chance to figure out what this is. Starting looking aroung the engine compartment and I'll be damned there was a 1/4" spark jumping right out of the plug boot shorting to the exhaust maniflold. It was right around the area where the connection is at the tip of the plug. The first thing I checked was to see if the boot was seated all the way on the plug and it was!! I'm like WTF So after I messed with it just a little it stopped doing it, but what the hell? Has anyone ever heard of or seen this? It was the driver side plug closest to the firewall and I just changed my plugs a few weeks ago. I'm almost positive it was doing this with the other plugs so does that mean the wire is bad? I'm using the MSD wires, like most everyone is. Is anyone having any issues with these wires??

You have a crack in the insulation. If you want to see a light show, wait until its dark out and watch it dance.

Nope no splits or anything in the boot. It's just jumping right through it.

Are you sure it's a spark or you just your imagination, you better grab it to find out.

you could always throw some water on it when its running to see where the spark is coming from.... LOL... or just grab it and stand in some water.
