Default what harmonic balancer puller is everyone using?

I decided to install my 10% OD harmonic balancer today. Well I thought I was going to... Long story short, I broke a puller trying to get it off. Is there a specific puller that I am supposed to be using? I just had a 3 jaw puller and thought that would do the trick.

I use a blue point puller very similar to Rogers.

Chrysler 3 jaw puller rent for free from autozone

I rented the wrong one at first (smaller and wimpy) and the bolt snapped off with the puller stuck on my pulley. I was lucky as crap to be able to get it off.

So, on the ATC puller does that rod just bottom out in the crank to pull off the pulley? I had originally removed it with a harbor freight pulley, but this time it wouldn't budge. I hope that rod is strong enough. I assume it will bend.

I use a standard 3 jaw puller, but I got some threaded rod of whatever thread that bolt is and cut it to about 6" long and made a dimple in the middle of it so the puller stays centered and has something good to push against. Works perfectly.
