what harmonic balancer puller is everyone using?

Yes, the rod bottoms out in the snout of the crank. You can't mess up the threads, and it won't bend. It works great.

I've done this in the past and it usually works. Have had one that was a PITA though. The OTC tool isn't that expensive if you're gonna be pulling more than 1 or 2 pulleys. Quality tools are always a good investment.

I made a tool. But you can buy one that dirttrackracer designed, from SDPC I believe. There's a thread around here somewhere.

i just ordered a longer bolt from mc mastercarr think its m16x2.0 iirc

Personally, I would NOT recommend using a longer bolt to pull the new pulley back on. You stand a pretty good chance of the crank snout threads galling, and you CAN ruin a crank.

not a fan of that just for the fact your beating up on the thrust bearing doin that but if worst comes to worst I've done it before in a pinch

2X on the correct puller and the balancer install tool. Don't do the longer bolt or the hammer treatment. I've had to work behind some of those installs and the bill ain't pretty! Not to mention the frustration.

I use the OTC puller and a homemade installer. It's a hackjob ghetto-rigged version of dirttrackracers tool, lol.
