Default what key fobs can i use???

I verified I do have a remote entry from the factory... old owner of the truck just never had the key fob. I need to know what years and models will work with an 02' Silverado. TIA

I think you can use a fob from about any year from 99 to 07. Check on ebay there is ussually a bunch of them for sale on there.

Well that's a tough one hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in. It does look like they are listed for different years on ebay. If the remote is the 3 button style for a 99 NBS I would guess it will work based on this auction.

I think the obs key fobs only had 2 buttons.

Here is some additional info that suggests it probably won't work. You may have to get the model number from it to know for sure.

Hey Bill, shoot me your last 8 digits of your VIN number and I'll tell you the GM parts #'s you need for the remotes. The problem inlies with the specific programming of the fob. You can't just get 2 fobs and they automatically work. There is always some remote re-programming procedure we have to use to make them "mate" with the truck. Most times we have to use the TechII and put the truck in re-program mode, then usually hold lock and unlock untill the door locks actuate.

I can look up the re-program procudure for you also....but....BEWARe the Ebay remotes....

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but how do I know which keyless entry fobs I need for my 2004 Sierra. I am new to GM trucks so I have no idea. I came from the dark side of trucks (FORD).
