Thanks Charlie, looking forward to it With this much interest, might as well just start a thread when the time comes. I posted up the results from my 1 year Amsoil oil changes in the family's Toyotas in my "My Amsoil Experiment" thread here: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...oil+Experiment

Lexus has never had a 4 cyl in it's lineup until the new 2010 HS250H Hybrid. Whatever the case, we've figured out that the PCV system is at fault, and our gel SPA (Special Policy Adjustment) includes installing new valve covers with redesigned PCV passages, as well as replacing valve seals, cleaning the oil pump pickup, etc. It makes perfect sense though...either way, my family's Toyotas get a new filter every 5k now. FWIW, both my mom's 99 4cyl Solara and ex-wife's 03 Matrix looked perfect underneath the valve covers at 65k and 92k respectively...of course they've both had perfect maintenance records, first with conventional Havoline, and later with Mobil1, before switching to Amsoil
Toyota has fixed the problem a while ago from what I heard. I think it was dealing with the mid 90's through EARLY 00's. I don't recall the v6's being involved. But I would say it was just a safty measure that Amsoil was taking.

One thing I have noticed with the Ea0 oil filters is that with my truck at 4k miles the oil is STILL a nice golden brown color. When I was using regular paper media oil filters it was black by 4k. Their great filters!
