Default What should I order to repair my mirror?

When I clipped the upside down plastic drum traffic thingie, my left mirror disappeared. It looks like something more than the glass is gone, there must be a piece that interfaces between the glass and what I have left. Do I need a whole new mirror, just the glass, or can I order the guts? Thanks.

Looks like just the glass itself is what you need. It has a bunch of "prongs" that actually snap right into the black movable part of the mirror.

I called the GMC dealer after seeing your answer, they said it is not available for my truck. Do I have the wrong year, or have you seen it after-market?

I've pulled a couple mirrors, and not long ago gave the glass part from an old one to a buddy of mine that got broken on his silvy (same mirrors). It pops out easlily. You might want to check here:

They are GM parts guys and can confirm if it is available separately. I would send you my extra but it's for the pass side, sorry man. Plus the one on my truck just got broken, along with the door kicked in and the grill and both headlights busted! MF'ing vandals, can't have anything these days. Anyway, its in for repair and I'll get my roll pan painted too. Good luck

You will need a whole new mirror. There is a plate that the glass sits in and you can't buy just the plate. I had mine stolen a few months ago and had to end up buying a whole new mirror.

Thanks for the suggestion to steal one, but I went ahead and ordered a new one.

No, but I am missing the piece that the glass is in. Good link though, for next time.

Some times (usually) my smart-*** sense of humor doesn't come through the internet very well. Sorry. Thanks for the help, though.
