Default What will it take to beat a ford lightning

I have a 07 reg cab with a 5.3 and 373 gears stock. i put exhaust and a k&n air system on it. what can i do and what are some of the main things you guys do. and I dont want to have to use NOS. thanks for looking and thanks for your help.

Long tube headers
Good cat back
Converter, around 3600 stall
Underdrive pully
Cam
Tune

That will get you there all motor

put a set a gears in it and that will make it just a bit better..

the cheaper route would involve a pocket knife or some wire strippers. But you'd be modding the lightning.

It will take that^ to get you even with a stock lightning. When is the last time you saw a stock lightning though?

Most are at least pullied by now

Find one on a rough dirt road with big rocks. He'll leave busted plastic everywhere 'til he high centers.

NOS or Blower. Those lightnings are fast, and like the other guy said, when was the last time you saw a stock lightning.... That would be like trying to find a Stock Twin Turbo Supra to race.... there aren't any anymore.... All are usually BPU (basic performance upgrades) and will smoke your ***. Get a 6.0, cam, headers, and a little N2O, blower or Turbo. Not a fair match All motor VS blown unless the All motor vehicle has had VERY extensive mods or a much larger displacement motor.

LT Headers, at least some 3.73's, shift kit, stall converter and some....Naaaawwwwwssss! Like a 150 shot!

Depends what lightning your talking about. Assuming you mean the newer versions then i think you'd hang pretty well with just some LTs and a cam. My buddy has an '03 and IMO, its slow. It was the first lightning i've ever ridden in and i wasn't at all impressed.
