Yea, a big wad of cash goes a long way.
I'd say go with a solid motor to start with, built for turbos with high boost. A forged 408, custom pistons, and maybe that new l92 intake/heads setup?
Then for turbos, hell, I know nothing of FI, so ask nelson =)

I would spray the **** out of your stock engine until the engine and tranny give up. then swap in a new LSX block bore it out big(454CI-500CI) pushing 14 to 1 compression. Throw in a turbo 400, 9 inch rear end and double stage nitrous system. Might have to also upgrade to a 4 link and wheel tubes. If you want to do that you have way to much mony on your hands.
