Default Whats Knocking in my motor?(video)

Some have told me that is is just a lifter bleeding down but it sounds to me like I got a broken piston or a rod bolt is loose...

It only makes the noise when the engine/engine oil is warm and it seems to go away about 1200-1500 rpms(or I just cant hear it over my exhaust). When I fire it up in the morning it wont start doing it until it has been idling for about 8-10 minutes, that makes me think the oil thins out and a lifter bleeds out. I put some Lucas oil stabalizer in it and I think it made it worse... anyhow check out the video and tell me what you think. It scares me because it kinda sounds like Slowhoe's old motor...

VIDEO

Ok the video is working now!

Thats sucks dude but from how you describe it, it sounds to me like a lifter. Its wierd a lifter can go either way. It can either do what you are describing or it can do it right at start up cause the oil leaks out of the lifter while sitting then takes a while to pump back up with oil. We may be here a while

I read your thread title and thought "Oh " And then I see I was mentioned in the post LOL!! The vid is still not up. My knock came right at startup and actually went away when it warmed up. Only knocked after it sat all night or all day. So it really only knocked first thing in the morning and when I would first start it after work. Your description sounds like a different problem. Does the knock increase with engine rpm?
Does it really sound like this?

99BlAcKz71 that nosie if from the number 8 cyclinder and you cant fix it. it is a factory defect since chevy over bored that cyclinder 4mm which makes that knocking nosie and i wont go away untill after the engine warms up. my buddy had that problem with his 03 and that is what he dealer told him.

Man, from the video it sounds like what my engine sounds like...same tick/tap, and it seems to be more prominent when warm. If all of the rocker arms are OK (mine were when I was chasing after the noise), my best guess would be a lifter....

I still haven't narrowed mine down yet, it keeps on running and keeps on ticking.

I hear more and more trucks ticking now. Wierd ****. It really does sound like lifter chatter. I wonder if a better set of lifters will solve the problem.
