I think my horn is going out but i can't find it...spent about 30 minutes trying to find that thing, and kinda isolated it to somewhere on the drivers side behind the headlight. I tried removing the radiator fan shroud and looking from under the truck and can't find it...anyone???

on my friends 04 chevy its under driver headlight. take the headlight out and you can barely see it. i got my friend to hold down the horn while i got in front of the truck with ear plugs. we only found the one on the driver side. we put a DIXIE horn under the hood, but we only ran it to a switch under his dash. i didnt feel like trackin down the stupid wire.

On my last car I upgrade the horn to one of those aftermarket ones from Pep Boys...it made it sound like a Caddy...pretty cool little mod...I don't know about putting it on the truck though...
I see JC Whitney has some....

There are two horns, one on each side. On my 2001 Silverado, mom's 2000 Burban and dad's 2002 Tahoe we have all had problems with one side filling up with water during rain storms. Both of theirs sound wussy, just a single tone cause they didn't fix the broken one. I got a new one after mine filled up and flipped it around on the bracket so it won't fill up, sounds decent like it did from the factory.

They are behind the headlights and corner lights on both sides, really easy to get to. I had to change both of mine after an accident. They are cheaply made and easy to replace, either they work or they don't. Can't really fix them

Hmmm...I have a grille guard on my truck, do you have to completely remove the lights or just be able to get your hand in there? I think I am still under warranty, so would you take it to get fixed or just upgrade the horn while you're in there...

Mine sounds gay, too. I think mine only has one but is wired for two. My truck is about as base-model as you can get. I looked in that area and saw a horn on one side and a connector on the other side.
A friend says you can get them cheap at places like Auto Zone. The dealer wil want a lot more for the same p.o.s.
