Default who drives there 2wd performance truck in the snow?

like the title says...anybody do it? i have the truck in my avatar which is 2wd on 22's. bought the truck cause i live in tx and have no need for 4wd. although it would be nice for traction some times! anyways, i am originally from N. Illinois and the couple times i have taken my truck home in the winter it has sucked to say the least. Im contemplating moving back and kinda dont want to sell the truck and start over with a 4x4. so are there any tricks to make it work? weight in the back? winter tires? or am i crazy to think u can survive without 4wd in the winter?

put a couple hundred pounds of weight in the bed, and put some blizzak snow tires on the back and youll be good to go.

I have 250 pound of sand in the bed, and run Cooper Discoverer M&S for snow tires. Never had an issue.

Once I got these better tires, it helped, but Blizzaks would be the ****. It also helped when the Snugtop added a few lbs. out back in winter. Still not optimal, but it works.
Also, a 2/4 drop doesn't help when snow gets too deep. I only drive mine cause it's my best option. Harleys don't go thru snow too well.

I now dread winter except for a few weeks round the holidays. I dislike it more every yr., & have more & more. I'm tired of cold, ice & snow. Each yr. my tolerance for colder temps changes, before it may've been say 25°, now 45° feels cold. IDK how many more yrs. I'll be in MI.

I can't stand knowin all that road salt is on my truck, not bein able to wash it as I freely want to like when temps are warmer.

So I gotta ask, why move back from TX? Job or a woman, or is it too hot?

All that is left is family or friends.

I had a 2wd RCSB with 3.90 gears/ mods etcetc and drove it 4 winters .yes good ice radials help ......what finally worked for me was one of those Traction Bags ........ bag lays in bed fitted to the box ......fill it with water 2" to 4" dependent on the weight you want .freezes solid ...... you still have use of your box these bags are real tough so you can load stuff on top of it ....... weight is even over the whole box

It's miserable. I got stuck 3 times I think this year. One time I got lucky and got pulled out by an old ford flatbed that happen to pass by.

A couple years ago I got stuck going into my gated parking lot on a speed bump that's just past the gate (activates the gate when exiting). I'm not joking about this either.
