Im almost positive they dont, but they do have a few of the engines in their lineup.

They are, however, the builders of the Duramax diesel engine. A very similar version of that motor has been used by Isuzu for a while now

It may very well be. If that's true...so what. Did you love and respect the LS1 yesterday? If so, then why worry about who made it today? Obviously someone did thier homework and made a pretty sweet powerplant.

Isuzu doesn't build the LS1, but they do use one in their Trailblazer/Envoy based SUV. Isuzu and GM share several parts, my previous Amigo had a ton of GM stuff under the hood.

Just like Ford and Mazda share components and engines.

he's correct, the LS1 is all gm along with the other gen III small blocks. there is no LS1 in a trailblazer/envoy/rainer/amigo platform. they do have the LM4 option though which is a 5.3 aluminum block/heads engine.

Exactly. And as 00Silverado said, Isuzu designs and builds the duramax, which is not a bad thing. Isuze builds some nice medium duty trucks. Also, none of the big 3 designed or built their own diesel. Dodge uses Cummins, Ford uses International (I think?), and GM uses Isuzu.

Red, your dad's buddies are getting the LS1 and Duramax confused.

Both the Romulans and the Mexicans build the LS1s. But only the Romulans build the LQ9 6.0L.
