Ive got a friend who works for gm he claims hes makin 5k a month. but he works his *** off, so u canmake good money

i work for a gm dealer. it's not uncommon for the tech's to make 20 an hour as beginners and 25-30 an hour as senior tech's.

I assumed you boys back east made less (due to cost of living), but it sounds like mechanics wages are about the same.
I always thought it was cheaper to live back east than where I'm at? Housing cost in my area are unbelievable, if you and your spouse don't clear 80,000 you won’t be buying a house here. (Or have a real hard time) A three bedroom two bath 1,200 square foot home on quarter acre or less goes for 275,000+

The most I have ever heard a mechanic make in my area is 28 bucks an hour. (Not flat rate), and that is with a 25+ year devotion to one company.
Maybe I should move back east lol.

Anybody live in a good area that isn't too hot???

flat rate. any good flat rate tech at a busy shop can pull in 60hrs a week without much trouble. most hourly guys are around 12-18 and hour.
