Why no LS1 based V-6?
Why hasn't GM made a LS base V-6 by removing the front two cylinders? I think it would make more power and get better mileage than the 4.3.
I think they could make 300HP V-6.
But with the 4.3 still going strong guess its cheaper just to freshin' it up!
Ah well who wants a V-6 anyway!

i think the 4.3 is a terrible motor to be honest wit you, the only thing i think they got goin for them is durability... stock they put out no power unless its in a S10 or blazer, and the mpg is TERRIBLE on em, i get better mpg in my 4.8 then i did in my 4.3. of course my 4.3 was 4wd wit 33s on it

i think right now they are working on converting over to DOHC v6 engines with more power and less displacement
i agree with beastmode on that one they have horrible power( whoever decided to put a v-6 in a FS truck should be shot), very poor gas mileage for a v-6( i had a 2wd rcsb on stock tires, get better mileage with my 4.8 on 20s), but are durable.

I read another book OMG, but it says when the the first ls1 came up they got quite a few of the ideas and designs from an experimental v6 that GM was working on, but it never was produced

my v6 isn't too bad......until I step on the gas, then it makes me depressed. It's a good daily driver which is what I need, but I cannot wait to step up to an LQ9 in a few years. And yes I have to defend the v6 because I own one.
