I've seen this happen, and its freaky as hell. My best guess is maybe microscopic imperfections in the glass

sunroof is 475 bones, just a shade under my deductible. and no warranty on glass. I asked the dealer if they had had any problems with the glass breaking and if it was under warranty. they said "never heard of that. cant warranty glass breakage, you should talk to your insurance Co." id like to whip some glass manufacturer's *** right now.

that is pretty odd. Do you have a stereo system with some hard hitting subwoofers? I was sitting on the back of my friends ford truck one night after riding around and we left the music on whlie we were sitting on the tailgate and he had the remote in his hand and he turned on the sub by accident for a few mins and couldnt get the remote to catch a signal again to turn them off from outside the truck.. so as he was going to his passenger door to turn off the stereo and right before he opened the door the front windows both busted out. However, he had one hell of a system, too much air pressure from the subs... i made fun of him forever... since its a ford and all

yeah, i have a prety nice stereo with 12" JL subs, it has been cranked up many times, but it was actually down low this lsat time when the sunroof blew up, and was off when the truck was parked in the garage the first time.

My neighbor had a Toyota SUV and her sunroof shattered like that all of the sudden. There has to be something that is going on...Sucks you had 2 incidents like this.

Maybe all of the vibration from your subs, exhaust, road vibration, etc weakened the glass over time until it was finally too much. The window could have had time to sit and warm up in the garage and then a temp change or vibration was too much for it and it just shattered. Just my 2 cents.
